Density formulas

Practice using common materials
lead 7.6g/1cm3
water 1.0g/ 1cm3

density mass volume
what to do if you only two of the components

Review how to manipulate a formula – have students write units of reference table
V = M/D
Mass units are g, Volume is cm3 or ml, and density is g/cm3 or g/ml3
M = V*D

You have a piece of lead with the density of 7.6g/cm3. The piece you have weighs 24g what is it volume?

Al mass 270g/100cm3
Fe 790g/100cm3
